| Rainbow Beach is a small beachside community, which has mainly serviced a small local population as well as the passing tourist trade generated from recreational beach driving and fishing, and those traveling through to Fraser Island camping or on day trips. Yet Rainbow Beach has a relaxing atmosphere and attraction all of its own, and with its transformation from the simple beachside two bedroom cottage to the architect designed beach house to a high dollar build cost to reflect and match current land prices. There are already dramatic visual changes in homes being built in Ocean View Parade with build costs of $1million plus. The overall aesthetics of the town will be enhanced as time goes by.
The community and the council have a vision for a streetscape upgrade. The “Plantation” will be a major contributor to the upgrade and landscaping features of the main street through the redevelopment of the site. This will have a carry-through effect that will contribute to the emerging image of Rainbow Beach.
A few minutes from Rainbow Beach, Carlo is the perfect setting-off point for cruising or sailing the Great Sandy Straits.
